You don’t need me to tell you how popular the Call of Duty series is. The Modern Warfare series under Call of Duty is also quite successful, as you’re probably already aware. So it’s no surprise that we’ll be receiving a sequel to the 2019 MW revival, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare II, the long-awaited sequel to Infinity Ward and Activision’s long-running Call of Duty series, has been officially unveiled. COD’s Modern Warfare subseries now includes a sixth major game, Modern Warfare 2. For our next Call of Duty, we even have a new logo.

Infinity Ward’s highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is expected to be unveiled in June, according to multiple sources. The trailer is believed to be a typical Call of Duty unveiling, and it is likely to solely contain footage from the campaign. According to Twitter user TheGhostOfHope, a trailer for Modern Warfare 2 will be released on June 2nd.

Game makers Infinity Ward have not yet officially revealed the game, but a number of leaks have circulated on media platforms for several months now. Information implies that the game will make its public debut during the Summer Games Fest on June 9th, “at an event when E3 was meant to be,” according to reliable sources. On June 2nd, the game will see a reveal trailer. If this is true, then the Summer Games Fest could see an expanded video or gameplay teaser scenario.

Sources have also said that Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer would likely be introduced in August, but it’s currently unclear if it would include a Warzone event, like we’ve seen in the prior two Call of Duty reveals.

Modern Warfare 2’s marketing campaign has already begun, according to a campaign task and the official Modern Warfare 2 logo revealed on Infinity Ward’s official social media channels during the previous few weeks, thanks to a series of teases.

Players are also particularly thrilled about the game’s multiplayer, which takes the game back to the present day. This year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is expected to have an Extraction-like DMZ mode as well as what might be a new Warzone 2 title that will be announced later this year or at the same time.

Modern Warfare 2 Release Date

However, it is likely that Modern Warfare 2 will be released sometime in the fall of 2022. In the past, Call of Duty games have been released in October or November, so Modern Warfare 2 is expected to follow suit.

According to some rumours, Activision may  release Modern Warfare 2 earlier than normal. According to several industry insiders, the Pacific Warzone map in Call of Duty: Vanguard is likely to be to blame for this drop in sales. As soon as Warzone 2 is confirmed to be coming, the developers may want to get it out as quickly as possible.

As soon as a date has been formally set, we’ll let you know right away.
