While 2021 wasn’t a disastrous year for released video games, it also wasn’t the year that everyone expected. Many games that were in the process of production when the pandemic struck have been postponed to 2022. 2021 may have been a terrible year, but 2022 seems like it will be the best year ever. Even in the first half, there are a lot of exciting video games to look forward to. The list isn’t complete, but we’ve included some of the most-anticipated Games that are coming out in 2022 and after.

Let’s take a look at what has been Released and Coming for us. The following is a list of the most anticipated video games for the year 2022.

Rainbow Six Extraction (Released Date: January 21)

One of the most popular game in the world, Rainbow Six Siege, was published in 2015. An expansion to Rainbow Six Siege called Extraction will be released by Ubisoft in 2022. Based on Siege, Extraction puts three teams against an extraterrestrial parasite. Multiple delays have occurred since the shooter’s debut at E3 2019.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus (Released Date: January 28)

Pokemon Legends: Arceus, a Nintendo Switch exclusive game, takes the iconic monster-collecting genre in a creative new direction. A new way to find and fight Pokemon is shown in the series’ first main game set in an open world, Arceus.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place in the same territory as Diamond and Pearl, but at a time when humans and Pokemon were not yet intertwined in the same way. Sneaking on Pokemon in real-time and engaging in turn-based combat are just some of the gameplay glimpses that have been shown in trailers for Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu. It appears like Arceus may be able to satisfy long standing gamers’ desire for something new.

Dying Light Stay Human (Released Date: Feb 4)

Seven years after the original’s release, Techland’s zombie-infested open world returns in Dying Light: Stay Human. The parkour area has been quadrupled in size, and developers have worked to improve the flow of movement between combat and exploration. There will also be a key role for actress Rosario Dawson in the game’s story.

Apocalyptic splendour in a gorgeously rendered package is what Dying Light 2 delivers. Zombie blood is on the menu for our baseball bats, which are ready and waiting.

Sifu (Released Date: Feb 8)

Sloclap, the studio that developed 2017’s combat-focused RPG Absolver, has released a new kung-fu game called Sifu. In this, though, you play as a young Kung-Fu student who is on a quest for revenge after the murder of his family. The focus of the game is on a unique ageing mechanic that allows you to trade away your life and try again if you make a mistake. When you die, older versions of themselves are to be used for the playable character. Getting too old, on the other hand, means you’ll be forced to start all over again.

Total War: Warhammer 3 (Release Date: Feb 17)

Total War: Warhammer 3 will be released by Sega in 2022, following the success of the previous two games in the series. The most diversified assortment of legendary heroes, colossal monsters, flying animals, and superpowers that the game has ever seen is what Creative Assembly is bringing to the table with the addition of two new factions, Kislev and Cathay. The PC version of Total War: Warhammer 3 will be available through the Xbox Game Pass.

Horizon Forbidden West (Release Date: Feb 18)

As a PlayStation exclusives, Horizon Forbidden West continues the story of Aloy and the enigmatic Red Blight. To a post-apocalyptic San Francisco in America, we’ll travel this time. As part of Sony’s Future of Gaming presentation, a trailer for Horizon Forbidden West was shown off, revealing that the game will be heading to the PS5, as well as additional large machine creatures and underwater sequences.

Elden Ring (Release Date: Feb 25)

A lot of people are looking forward to Elden Ring this year. There are numerous reasons why it’s worth mentioning. First and foremost, it’s a huge new title from FromSoftware, the studio behind Dark Souls. The game’s open-world setting is also a novelty for the From Software studio’s work. Third, George R.R. Martin helped construct its world and lore. A lot is happening here, and those who are able to persevere will be rewarded with a massively ambitious and satisfying title.

Babylon’s Fall (Release Date: March 3)

PlatinumGames has released another combat-heavy title, Babylon’s Fall, and it is finally coming to PlayStation and PC, over four years after it was first revealed at E3. The plot of Babylon’s Fall revolves around a group of heroic characters who’ve been granted extraordinary abilities in order to fight off an invading army that appears unstoppable. It can be played alone or in groups of up to three people, whichever way you choose to go about it.

Gran Turismo 7 (Release Date: March 4)

On March 4th, 2022, Sony’s legendary Gran Turismo series will make its PS5 debut. Following Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 5’s success in 2021, racing enthusiasts are eager to see how Sony’s racing sim does in its next-generation launch. Hermen Hulst, the head of PlayStation Studios, has stated that Gran Turismo 7 will incorporate aspects from all previous games in the series. It will be fascinating to see what the PS5 can achieve with a series known for its high visual standards.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (Release Date: March 25)

In late March, this Dungeons & Dragons-inspired Borderlands spinoff will be released for consoles and PC. It’s Tiny Tina’s job to lead players through Wonderland’s epic adventure, which involves the return of Butt Stallion and the mission to vanquish the Dragon Lord. The game will have a story-driven co-op campaign for up to four players. 

Forspoken (Release Date: May 24)

In all likelihood, Forspoken will be an unexpected hit. Square Enix’s open-world RPG does have the potential to produce big on both its story and gameplay, thanks to its intriguing Isekai premise and its furious parkour traversal system. A young New Yorker named Frey is thrust into the dangerous world of Athia in the studio’s first adventure, Forspoken. Saints Row (Release Date: August 23)

The entire Saints Row series will be relaunched. As the Boss, you’ll be assembling your sains from ground up as a small team of buddies who are just getting started. Inside the fictional world of Saint Ileso, you will be able to leave your imprint as a criminal lord by picking which kind of gang you wish to join. Smuggling in controlled substances? It appears that the arms are moving. You have the last say. This is the story of how the Saints got their start, and it’s your story to tell.
